We met up several months after our final separation.

Talented, clever, physically attractive and never married. She worked as a TV Director on several hit shows. Her house, valued in the eight figure range, was mostly funded from profits she earned from buying and selling properties over a period of ten years. All on her own.

A published poet, formidable writer and accomplished musician. Her best friend, who produces US feature-films, is a member of well-known Hollywood family. Yes, an interesting-in-that-way, independent woman.

We went for a walk in the park to chat about the source of a familiar snap I’d heard in my head one day, during one of our relationship discussions, that marked the end, etc. A fearless communicator, she shared a fantasy in which I returned in my chariot to whisk her away. The sweetness of her vulnerability along with the courage to share it was devastating. Not devastating enough to cause an alteration of my route, but profoundly touching.

…it left at 12:05 P.M., still a mourning dove.
