sometimes you just gotta' row

Some enchanted evening…

Neither a falling to sadness nor melancholic darkness, not the oppressive weightiness born of that purgatorial place between dream and rumination. Au contraire.

One morning last week I awoke to the company of a bald eagle that came to rest in the tall pine outside my bedroom window. Yesterday morning i discovered a large, three-masted clipper-ship anchored in the bay, just off my front yard. There are the deer and rabbits, now, near-constant companions. For me, a fortuitous context, virtuously fraught and dearly appreciated.

Glad to have been here. It’s easy to overlook the endless rain and grey tone, especially as the next chapter reveals; spectacular in its promise.

Thunder has begun to roll in on yet another north-east blow and with it realization the absence of another half is the likely source of this pervasive, vigor-less echo.

A soul-warming fire crackling in syncopation to rainfall pattering off glass, windowing the sea’s dance, a compelling read and a wineglass full – nourishment for the spirit of one; for two methinks, to soar divine.

You may see a stranger
Who can explain it?
Who can tell you why?
Fools give you reasons
Wise men never try
Some enchanted evening
When you find your true love
